USAS Pilots with RAF Home Aircraft development A Pilot's war WW1 aircraft exhibits Bibliography    Links   USAS pilots assigned to RAF Squadrons during 1918 (not No.s 17 and 148 (American) Sqns, though some pilots went on to serve in these units which later joined the USAS 4th Persuit Group). In addition to these men there were a number of Americans serving in the RAF under the guise of being Canadian. From November 1917 there had been an agreement between the UK and US that the RFC would not recruit Americans (ie in competition with USAS).
